WHAT IS CHIISAI MAKERS?
Chiisai Makers is a boutique store based in Melbourne, Australia, with inspiration drawn from Japan in it’s style, branding, and function. We don’t have a physical store, (yet)!
We take client requirements for any type of branding and work collaboratively to create a product - whether for a business or an individual seeking customized products.
We put great effort and pride in creating something that pleases the customer but are also unafraid of trying completely new and novel things to push the boundaries of branding and decoration.
WHO IS BEHIND CHIISAI MAKERS?
Chiisai Makers was founded by Genie, a creative and multi-talented individual who wants to make an impact through art and technology, mixing both to create one-of-a-kind products.
Genie has a Bachelor of IT with a major in multimedia development. Her love of Australia and Japan, as well as creating things with her own hands is a big inspiration for the creation of Chiisai. She loves all things creative, from her hobby of wildlife photography, through to doing artwork and design commissions. Chiisai is an opportunity for her to grow and learn new skills, build a business, and enjoy what she does!
Supporting local businesses and local economy is incredibly important to Genie which is why she endeavours to keep as much of her business from design to product creation, local within Australia - servicing her communities.
WHAT IS THE LOGO?
Chiisai’s branding took inspiration from Japan, in particular, Melbourne’s very first sister city - Osaka.
An incredibly famous icon within Osaka’s Dotonbori, a large pufferfish (or fugu) was displayed. Our logo takes direct inspiration from the giant fish, linking the brand with Japan.
“Chiisai” in Japanese means “small” or “little” which directly relates to our business being a small one, and our preference towards helping other small businesses or individuals to achieve their product and branding goals.
